About Sama

History

Established in 2017, Sama Healthcare began as an branch of Multicultural Health Services in NE Minneapolis.  Suad Haji, CEO, saw a need for low-cost and conveniently located health services within the Somali-American community, and jumped at the opportunity to fill a gap in accessibility.

A Black, woman-owned business, Sama Healthcare recognizes the importance of amplifying the voices of the marginalized within our community.  We stand ready to provide care and resources to those in need of physical, mental, emotional and social health services.

Our Founder

Suad Haji is an experienced businesswoman and mother who studies psychology. Our generous CEO spends her Sundays in our empty clinic packing groceries for those in need within our community.

Our Patients

We have extensive experience serving patients of all nationalities, races, ethnicities, religions, cultures, sexual orientations and gender identity.  We have a designated prayer room within our clinic, with prayer rugs available to everyone.

Our Mission

Our goal is to provide affordable, convenient, compassionate and evidence-based services to our diverse patient population.

Covid-19 Pandemic

Our clinic staff has embraced the challenges brought by 2020.  We observe strict hand-hygiene, clean our clinic and patient rooms between visits, and require masks for all entering.  We offer drive-up and in-clinic Covid-19 testing, offering both the 20-minute rapid testing and the 48 hour PCR testing. In addition, we offer the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine and booster.

Insurance

We are pleased to accept most major insurance plans and will work with you to ensure you received the benefits you qualify for. Unfortunately, at this time, we are not able to accept Hennepin Healthcare insurance.
